If you grew up in or around Memphis, you’ve probably been told boating on the Mississippi River is too dangerous. We encourage you to experience a unique adventure on the Mississippi River and Memphis Harbor safely, as we have with our families for decades. Mark Babb, Kayak Memphis owner and firefighter/paramedic, worked as a licensed riverboat pilot from 1985 to 1995, is CPR certifited and has successfully completed swiftwater rescue training. His family and our guides have led many trips on the Mississippi River and sections of the Wolf River since 2005.
Kayak Memphis has been renting boats and guiding trips on the Mississippi River since 2005. We began this venture by accommodating friends & family on guided river tours. These trips have ranged from Galena, Illinois all the way to Vicksburg, Mississippi. In addition, we opened Ghost River Rentals that same year. Since then, we have had people from all over the world and walks of life join the Kayak Memphis family and use our services to get out in the water.
